Issue of revised Recruitment Rules of PS Gr. B cadre ... updates!!!

All are well aware that Department has created Postmaster cadre vide memo No. 4-17/2008-SPB.II dated 22/11/2010, and 116 PS Group B Posts were carved out for Senior Postmaster cadre and framed RRs for Senior Postmaster cadre vide memo No. 137-03/2009-SPB.II dated 9/9/2010.  Since last two years, GS is pursing the issue of revised Recruitment Rules of PS Group B cadre with the Directorate to correct the anomaly of fixation of quota for PS Group B from IP Line Officials and General Line Officials by providing 97% vacancies to PS Gr. B from IP Line and 3% by promotion of officials from General Line through a LDCE. But till this date, neither Recruitment Rules of PS Group B cadre revised nor share of General Line officials reduced from PS Group B examination. To reduce the quota of General Line officials from LDCE for the promotion to the cadre of PS Group B, GS is always in touch with Directorate and now he has been told that  Directorate has submitted draft copy of revised Recruitment Rules of PS Group B for approval to DoPT i.e. Nodal Department.
